Terms of service

Surgical Volume is provided by ALGD LTD, 121 Glencam Road, Omagh, Tyrone, BT79 7HB, United Kingdom (company number NI744090), contact support@surgicalvolume.com. By buying a certificate or using the site you agree to these terms.

What the site is. Rankings of physicians by the number of procedures they billed to Medicare in one year, compiled from the public CMS file Medicare Physician & Other Practitioners — by Provider and Service. It covers Medicare fee-for-service only, and CMS withholds any count under 11. A rank measures volume, not quality or outcomes, and nothing on the site is medical advice.

What a purchase is. A one-off payment of $149 for one physician and one data year. It removes the preview mark from that physician's certificates for that year, links the practice website named at checkout from the profile, and provides the badges as vector files. It does not change any rank, and no rank, placement or wording is for sale.

Availability and liability. The site is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the fees paid in the 12 months before the claim, and we exclude liability for consequential loss.

Governed by the laws of Northern Ireland.

Privacy policy

What the rankings contain. Each physician's name, credentials, specialty, city and state, and procedure counts, exactly as CMS publishes them. No patient data of any kind: the CMS file contains none.

What we store about buyers. The email address from checkout, the Stripe session identifier, and the website entered at checkout. Payment details are held by Stripe and never reach our servers.

Where data lives. On our application server (Fly.io, single machine and volume). Backups age out in 7 days. Retention. A purchase record is kept for as long as the profile is claimed and deleted 30 days after a request to support@surgicalvolume.com.

Sub-processors. Fly.io (hosting). Stripe, Inc. (payments). No analytics, no advertising cookies; the site sets no cookies at all.

Refunds

If the certificate or profile is not what this site says it is, email support@surgicalvolume.com within 14 days of the charge and we refund it in full, no forms and no conditions beyond telling us what was wrong. Refunds go back to the card charged, through Stripe.
